Race for the Cure

I know it has been a bit since I last posted...I know, What - A - Slacker!

If you will recall back in April I had posted that I felt I was being led to do something different from the March of Dimes. Well, this past weekend I just ran my 1st Susan G Komen Race for the Cure. It was a lot of fun, I could have done better, but at least I can say I did it.

My little brother ran by my side the whole way. It felt really special having him there. He likes to run and is always wanting me to join him outside, but I prefer the treadmill. However, after this weekend I have decided I really do need to get outside when I can. I might even start taking him up on his offer to run with me.

We finished 3.25 miles in 50 minutes. I was running fullspeed to the finish line and trying to maneuver around all the people in the finish line area and ended up running into a woman who just seemed to keep walking the same way I was trying to run.  At the time I was a little frustrated, but I do feel bad about it now.

This weekend I plan on running the Stop the Violence 5K. This will be my 3rd 5K and I am super excited!

My brother plays the bagpipes for the Fire Department Pipes & Drums...
This was them playing "Amazing Grace"

Here we are running while taking a selfie...
we look like we are having fun, don't we?

Here is my friend Crystal, myself, and Bo after the run!
